The anchor or disk brake support in utilitarian cars represents a component which is critical to safety and must therefore comply with stringent technical and mechanical demands:

• Machinning: machineability in order to facilitate the mechanisation and assembly with the other components of the disk brake.
• Extension: ductile so as to resist cracking under high levels of strain and fatigue.
• Resistence to traction: high level of force transfer from the wheel to the chasis when braking.

• Deformation by torsion: damage-free resistence to brusque movements or extreme stress caused by the wheels when braking.
• Elasticity: maintenance of the structure of the material after torsion.
• Thermic stability: resistence to heat in order to combat high temperatures of disk brake.
• Shock absorbers: impedes transfer to chassis by absorbing vibrations caused when braking.
